About

A Namakubi, or Japanese severed head, symbolizes courage in confronting death, the acceptance of one’s fate, and the honor of fulfilling one’s duty. In Japanese tradition, beheading a defeated opponent in battle was considered a mark of respect for their bravery. Beyond these meanings, the Namakubi also conveys themes of humility, the impermanence of life, and the harsh realities of warfare. It serves as a reminder of sacrifice, the warrior's code of Bushido, and the relentless pursuit of honor, even in the face of death.

A male Namakubi represents honor in the face of death and unwavering commitment to duty, as a defeated soldier would often submit and offer his neck for a clean beheading. Typically, the male Namakubi features a top knot, symbolizing the traditional warrior's hairstyle and further emphasizing the concept of dignity in defeat.

Fabric and Care

Fabric Description:

  • The round neck t-shirt is made out of 100% pure cotton for ultimate luxury and comfort.
  • The 180GSM weight provides the perfect mid-weight feel soft, breathable, and durable, offering a premium drape without being too heavy.
  • Designed with double-stitched seams for added strength, this t-shirt is built to last while maintaining its relaxed fit.

Care Instructions:

  • Washing: Machine Wash Cold (30°C/86°F or below) to prevent shrinkage and preserve fabric strength. Use Mild Detergent, preferably one without bleach or harsh chemicals. Turn Inside Out, to reduce fading and protect any prints or stitching. Do not dry clean.
  • Drying: Hang the t-shirt in a shaded area to air dry, as direct sunlight may cause fading. If using a dryer, use a low heat setting to minimize shrinkage and preserve the cotton fibers. Take the t-shirt out of the dryer as soon as it's dry to avoid wrinkles.
  • Ironing: Iron on Low to Medium Heat. If necessary, iron on the reverse side, and avoid ironing directly over any prints. Use Steam to remove wrinkles without damaging the fabric.
